On 26 July 2024 the head of the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Military Administration officially renamed the Amurskyi Bridge in Dnipro to Staryi (Old) Bridge. The renaming took place as part of a large-scale decommunisation of toponyms — at the same time, 292 sites in the city and oblast were renamed.

The Staryi (Amurskyi) Bridge is the oldest bridge across the Dnipro in Dnipro. Built in 1884 to a design by the prominent engineer N. A. Belelubsky, it was restored three times — after the Civil War and the Second World War.

The 1955 reconstruction, during which the bridge acquired its modern form, was performed by the bridge engineers of the Specialised Bridge Construction Department of the Dnipro Basin — the predecessor of present-day Mostobud.
