Kyiv, Pivdennyi Bridge across the Dnipro River
A two-tier cable-stayed bridge across the Dnipro, 1,256 m long with a 271 m main span. The first cable-stayed bridge of this scale built in the USSR. Combines road traffic with a metro line. Opened on 25 December 1990.
The largest cable-stayed bridge of the Soviet period, designed by the Kyivsouzdorproekt institute (chief engineer G. B. Fuchs). One of the main transport corridors between the right and left banks of Kyiv.
