August 2015 marks 70 years since the founding of the Specialised Bridge Construction Department of the Dnipro Basin in Kyiv (August 1945), set up to rebuild war-damaged bridges and construct new ones.
Over seven decades, that structure grew into the company known today as Mostobud — the leader of Ukrainian bridge engineering, with more than 1,100 railway and 5,000 road bridges and overpasses built.
The anniversary was a moment to recall the people who shaped the company — from the legendary Hero of Socialist Labour Isaak Barenboim, who led the trust for over two decades, to the current generation of engineers building the tallest bridge in Ukraine in Zaporizhzhia.
