Dnipro, city bridge across the Dnipro River

Designed by the Dniproghiprotrans institute.

Technical characteristics:

• total bridge length — 1,478 m;

• navigable spans — rigid-frame suspended system, 62+2×90+62 m scheme, 304 m total length;

• non-navigable viaduct sections — simply-supported reinforced-concrete prestressed superstructures 32.96 m long;

• carriageway clearance — 21 m;

• two 1.5 m footpaths.

Piers: viaduct sections — twin-column piers on piled foundations; channel rigid-frame suspended spans — on foundations of reinforced-concrete prestressed prismatic piles 40×40 cm, 16–25 m long.

Opened to traffic: 1966.
