On 24 December 2020, the first lane of the beam bridge across the Old Dnipro River (structure No. 5 — connecting the Khortytskyi district with Khortytsia island) opened in Zaporizhzhia for working road traffic.
This was the first stage of putting into service the highway that Mostobud has been building in the city since 2004. The highway features two bridges of original design: a cable-stayed bridge across the Dnipro and a frame bridge of the «running deer» type across the Old Dnipro (340 m, 10HSND-2 steel).
The opening was a long-awaited moment for Zaporizhzhia residents and a key milestone of «Big Construction» in the region.
